Energy Performance Certificates - EPC
Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) were introduced in England and Wales on 1st August 2007 as part of Home Information Pack (HIPs).
When the requirement for HIPs ceased in May 2010, the Energy Performance Certificate remained and is still required by building control for all new dwellings and conversions in order to obtain a completion certificate.
Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs) and Construction Energy Assessors (OC DEAs) are the main parties who can issue EPCs.
Predicted Energy Assessments (PEA) are the design stage versions of the EPC and can be used to show the energy rating of a design before construction. These are frequently used for off plan sales and are available from Construction Energy Assessors. All Green House Calcs energy assessors are fully qualified Construction Energy Assessors and have produced PEA's SAP documents and EPC's daily, for over 5 years.
