SAP 2009
From October 1st 2010, all new buildings, extensions and conversions must comply with the new building standards set out in Part L 2010. This is assessed using theSAP 2009 protocol, with SAP always dated one year behind the Part L regulations.
SAP 2009 shows a marked improvement upon SAP 2005 and almost ensures that developers consider renewable technology, as well as improving the thermal resistance of all external elements of a building. In the successive issues of Part L in 2013 qnd 2016, it is hoped that all buildings will achieve a very high level of thermal efficiency and be self reliant in the production of hot water from solar panels and power from roof mounted photovoltaic panels perhaps. 'Zero Carbon' is the term used to describe this kind of structure though the exact definition of zero carbon has yet been made avaliable, and currently changes frequently.
At Green House Calcs we pride ourselves on understanding the complexities of new thermal design and how to achieve the required standards, however your budget stands. We are also proud to have worked on many complicated high efficiency, high budget designs which now exist in the english countryside.
